Well, I guess I'm not the most prolific blogger on the planet.... anyway, here's an update of what happened since last time I wrote on here.
I have been shooting lots and lots of footage for Getty Images distribution, getting to know the RED One ever better. The more I work with this machine, the more I love it.
My WORK showreel is composed of clips shot over the past year or so on the RED One.
That said, shortly before Christmas, a new kid arrived on the block - the RED EPIC! This is a different beast altogether... at first sight, it looks and feels more like a medium format stills camera then the RED One. A bit strange at first, with some of the controls not where I would expect them, a touchscreen that's glossy (hey, I really don't want to see myself when I'm shooting - I'm not such a pretty sight) and a some other quirks - I'll spare you the tech details. Took a while getting used to, but I soon realized I could shoot stuff with the EPIC which I couldn't with the RED One. The form factor really helps in shooting on the go, 'guerilla style', handheld is definitely possible. I don't yet have any post-produced clips from the Epic, but will post on here as soon as I get some.
Of course the RED wasn't the only camera I used in all this time - there were a lot of stills productions also, some for stock, others for clients such as McKinsey, Black&Veatch, Baker-Hughes, etc, etc.
